The Book of Theo was my first ever series, and it was truly a labour of love. It took over ten years to complete--partly because my computer was stolen while I was on a job in the Czech Republic, with the entire manuscript on it.
Not to date myself, but this was in the days before Dropbox and cloud storage. And stupidly, I hadn’t backed it up.
I lost everything.
And then... I rewrote the whole thing. From scratch.
So when I say this story is close to my heart, I mean it because it's been living with me a long time. Every page of Theo’s journey was rebuilt with determination, a bit of madness, and a love for epic stories like "Redwall" and "Narnia."
What’s It About?
In a world where reading is outlawed and animals are enslaved by the human empire, one young rabbit—Theo—discovers the forbidden magic of language.
What begins as a quiet rebellion turns into a full-blown uprising as Theo joins a warrior bear and a secret Order to free his kind and reclaim their voices.
It's dark and violent at times, but also heartwarming and hopefully inspiring. Ultimately The Book of Theo is an epic about friendship, courage, and the power of words.
